DOST Accepting Scholarship as of 2020

Good News to those who are willing to join the scholarship.

Republic Act No. 7687, also known as the “Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994”, provides for scholarships to talented and deserving students whose families’ socio-economic status do not exceed the set cut-off values of certain indicators. Qualifiers must pursue priority fields of study in the basic sciences, engineering, other applied sciences, and science and mathematics teaching.

Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) is now accepting applications for Scholarships Program for the year 2021.

Grade 12 students or graduating students are urged to apply and follow their dreams and careers in science and technology during the academic year 2020-2021.

Applicants that can be accepted for this scholarships are deserving and talented young people who wish to pursue lifetime careers in Science and Technology through its undergraduate scholarship programs.

Filing of Application: Starting June 2, 2020 to August 28, 2020
Date of Examination: October 25, 2020

MERIT – The DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship Program, formerly known as the NSDB or NSTA Scholarship under RA No. 2067, is awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and are willing to pursue careers in the fields of science and technology.

Qualifications for Scholars
1. Must be Filipino citizen
2. Indigent, talented and deserving student who belongs to a family whose socio-economic status does not exceed the set values of certain indicators
3. Candidate should be either a member of the top five percent (5%) of the Non-STEM strand senior high school graduating class or member of the STEM strand senior high school graduating class
5. Residiving in the municipality for the past four years
5. Good moral character and in good health
6. Qualifier of the Science and Technology Scholarship Examination

Scholarship Privileges

1. Tuition and other school fees: ₱40,000.00 / year
2. Book Allowance: ₱10,000.00 / year
3. MS/PE uniform for 1st Semester of First Year only: ₱1,000.00
4. Monthly Living Allowance ₱7,000.00 / month
5. Health Insurance
6. Graduation Clothing Allowance ₱1,000.00
* Transportation Allowance for those studying outside of home province: 1 economy-class roundtrip fare
* Summer Tuition and other school fees if required in the curriculum: ₱1,500.00
* Summer Book Allowance submit Official Receipt: ₱500.00
* Summer Monthly Living Allowance: ₱7,000.00 / month for two months
